ABOUT ME PILATES ACADEMY

Hi, I’m Mandy,  founder of ME Pilates Academy. I’ve been teaching pilates for 14 years now.  I started with just one class in the Emmbrook Village Hall on Wednesday lunchtimes and I’m proud to say I still run that very same class and even have clients still attending now from those early days!!  I believe this is testament to how beneficial pilates is to everyone.  Once you have introduced your body to pilates you realise just how much you need it in your life!

BEGINNERS PILATES

A mat work based class for the beginner. 

The pilates principles and fundamental pilates exercises will be mastered. 

Participants can progress in their own time as all exercise can be mastered to different levels of difficulty.  Small equipment is used in class on occasions such as the pilates ring, pilates soft ball, toning balls, resistance and Thera bands. These add even more variation and challenge to the beginner classes. 

PILATES FLOW

A 45 minute class that builds on individual movements to perform a fast flowing routine of pilates movements by the end of the class. Participants must be competent to beginner level.

IMPROVERS PILATES

A class for the beginner to progress to. 

This class builds on the fundamental beginner level exercises and progresses to the more challenging pilates exercises from an intermediate to advanced level. The class is slightly shorter in duration but more intense. It’s taught at a quicker pace flowing from one exercise into the other, with more repetitions of each exercise and less rest between them. The improvers class gives a challenging and varied workout.

As newcomer to pilates, I have really enjoyed Mandy's classes and have noticed my progression even after the first course of classes. I leave each class feeling stronger and relaxed and glad I spent the time. Mandy explains and demonstrates each move and take the time to make sure you get it right. She also gives lots of options to challenge yourself with modifications for each move depending on your level.

Pilates has made such a difference to my balance, strength and flexibility. I never want to be one of those old ladies who falls over and can’t get up.  Mandy’s class is very enjoyable. The workout is different every week and Mandy gives a clear demonstration of each exercise and an explanation of the benefits it brings along with excellent supervision.
